ESL - Intel Extreme Masters Katowice

For its first in-person event post Covid19 ESL selected Presteigne and its French partner Kaptures to provide technical facilities and crew across two venues to support coverage of the Intel Extreme Masters in Katowice, Poland.

The initial group stages took place over four days for which Presteigne provided equipment to compliment ESL’s state of the art remote production facilities.

At the core of the group stages equipment were two custom designed camera racks. Each built in shock mounted SKB racks, the camera racks consist of an upper monitoring rack and a lower rack which holds the CCUs, RCPs with touchdown control, router panel and talkback. The racks are designed to work either as part our portable production systems or, as in this case, on a standalone basis. Each CCU rack is wired for up to four CCU’s and can be used with any of Presteigne’s system cameras.

The monitoring rack cables neatly on top of the lower rack to enable speedy and tidy rigging. The monitor rack can take a wide variety of monitors including Postium, Sony and Canon depending on preference. A Leader 5770A waveform compliments the rack to give the vision controller all the information they need to provide the quality of images a client such as ESL expects.

Seven Sony HDC 2500 were supplied to cover all the action. The outputs of these were sent directly to ESL’s remote system for event coverage.

Presteigne drew upon its extensive audio department to provide Sennheiser 6000 series wireless microphones, which were chosen for their quality and reliability. A mix of beltpack and handheld wireless microphones were supplied to enable production to have the most flexible options while producing this event. Additional effects mics were placed around the event area to capture the intense gaming

action. Wisycom MPR50 IEMs were used for the presenter’s communications. A custom rack was built for this equipment to provide the exact facilities required for this project with all outputs handed to client in the form of a DANTE feed.
