ESL - Intel Extreme Masters Katowice

The finals stage, held in a second venue within Katowice, overlapped with the end of the group stage so the core of an additional system was provided as a separate solution.

The group stages use of the Presteigne CCU racks was expanded to include three radio cameras drawing upon the expertise of the Presteigne specialist RF department. DTC Prorxd receivers with OBTX transmitters were supplied as this system delivers reliable results but has low latency and draws low power. Our preferred choice for Telemetry control is the solution from Videosys.

The large venue size meant that ESL required a solution to transport a large amount of SDI feeds to and from a variety of areas including the main gaming area and production rooms. Presteigne used Riedel MicroN Mediornet to transport twelve 3G signals both ways over fibre. These units also have the ability to carry MADI and network over the same fibre infrastructure.

The Audio solution was complemented by a comprehensive communications package for the finals stage. Built around a RTS Odin matrix a range of panels KP4016, KP5032 and DKP 4016s was deployed. Wireless communications were delivered using Riedel Bolero beltpacks and Motorola walkie talkies. The Bolero system used an extensive deployment of antenna points placed to give coverage of all the key areas of the arena and Riedel’s NSA interface box was used to integrate it into the cabled communications for a seamless system.
