Two Four Productions - I Kissed a Girl
units were connected to the hubs around site to receive the cameras which were then passed on to the main router. The MicroNs were also used to synchronise all the cameras so they were all timed onto the router. By using the latest in hybrid routers and audio equipment the whole CTA was only three bays wide. Camera control was also handled by MicroNs. Three virtual local area networks (VLAN) were created across the system. To ensure high levels of network security, talkback, router & camera control were on separate networks. All the camera and fibre hub connectivity was continuously monitored to identify and deal with any issues immediately.
For communications Presteigne used two RTS Odin matrixes running as one system (96x96) with a mix of KP4016 and KP5032 panels all connected over IP using Omneo. For wireless communications a mix of Motorola walkie talkies with Tait Basestations and Riedel Bolero beltpacks were provided. Bolero antennas were placed around the site and connected back via IP over the fibre to give comprehensive coverage and minimising rigging impact.
Connecting the comms matrix, audio desks and video router all via the madi and DANTE enabled an “all audio can go anywhere” system helping to make the whole design very flexible and adaptable to suit whatever changes were asked of it.
The racks were dual powered via local power through a TSL auto change mains distribution unit. This provides full power back up of the system in the event of power failure of an incoming circuit. Because of the multifunctional ability of the equipment we use, the whole system runs on very little power helping to keep costs down.
